🚀 Creating a New Prototype

This time, we built another prototype using paper and cardboard. We attached two strings to it because we wanted people to physically interact with it this week rather than just watching videos like last week.

We placed the prototype on a table with a hole and used the Wizard of Oz technique—Alin hid under the table, and every time a user reached for the phone, Mai kicked Alin, prompting her to pull the strings to make it look like the robot was vibrating or collapsing.

It was challenging to replicate the exact "fear-like" vibration we wanted, but users understood that the robot was in distress and felt the need to help it.

After testing, we finalized the movement:

1️⃣ A fear-induced vibration when the user reaches for the phone.

2️⃣ A vibration that leads to a collapse when the user takes the phone—just like an earthquake causing a building to fall.

🎤 Preparing for the Final Presentation

On Tuesday evening, the entire team gathered at the Milab to prepare for the final presentation. It was challenging to condense everything we had worked on throughout the semester into just an 8-minute pitch.

We divided roles, created a compelling presentation, and felt proud of the final result.

🎤 Next Week: The Final Presentation!

Next week, we will be presenting our project to the entire class. After that, we head into exam season and then enjoy a well-deserved semester break! 📚✈️
