A Name with Purpose
This week, we officially finished building our product — and it finally has a name: Palmo. It’s a combination of Pal (friend) and Mo (motivation), which perfectly reflects what our robot is all about: a friendly companion designed to boost motivation for students doing their homework. Palmo isn’t just a tool — he’s a study buddy, a gentle presence on your desk that helps you stay focused and on track.
🎨 From Transparent to Clean White
After our latest usability tests, we realized the transparent prototype wasn’t working — users were distracted by the visible motors and wires. So, we reprinted the entire model in white, giving it a much cleaner and more user-friendly look.

đź’» Code Fixes & a Late-Night MILAB Marathon
This week we also fixed all remaining code issues. We made a promise to ourselves: we’re not leaving MILAB until the product is 100% done. It turned into a full-on sprint, but by the end — we had a fully working, final version of our product. We even took it home for filming!
🎬 First Composition Tests
We started experimenting with video composition — trying out different backgrounds, angles, and lighting setups. The quality of these first videos wasn’t great, but they helped us decide what works and what definitely doesn’t.
📸 Static Product Shots at MILABT
o keep things moving, we also filmed some basic shots of the product alone, against a clean white background. These will come in handy for cutaways and documentation.
âŹď¸Ź Coming Up Next
Next week, we’re planning the full video shoot — and we’ll finally dive into editing. The finish line is near!
