We can’t believe we’re writing this, but here we are – our final week at Milab. And what a week it’s been!
Wrapping It All Up with a Final Video 🎬
This week was all about bringing it all together. We shot the final scenes of our video, edited everything (more than once, of course 😅), and completed our official project video. Despite the unexpected Iranian attack that disrupted a lot of things across the country – we were lucky! Palmo was already staying at Alin’s place, so we were able to continue filming and making last-minute improvments without skipping a beat. 🧡
Emotional Impact? Confirmed ✅
We conducted our final usability tests this week, and the results were incredibly satisfying. We saw that our core emotional goals were clearly met:
Students felt empathy for the robot
They cared about Palmo and didn’t want to hurt him
They even expressed a sense of guilt when they picked up the phone
The collapsing and shaking motions worked beautifully – they triggered those exact feelings we were aiming for. It made students stop and think twice before reaching for their phones. For us, that’s what success looks like! 🙌
Demo Day at Milab 🎤
The big Milab Demo Day arrived, and we were ready. We walked around the space, explaining our project to guests, and then presented our final presentation to everyone. We genuinely feel like we managed to communicate the heart of our project. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive – people really connected with what we built.
A Final Goodbye (And a Huge Thank You) 👋
And just like that – it’s time to say goodbye. We had an incredible time working as a team: each of us brought something different to the table, and together we worked like a well-oiled machine. We enjoyed every second of the process and we’re beyond proud of the solution we came up with.
Looking back at where we started and seeing where we are today is surreal. The amount we’ve learned, created, failed, laughed, tested, and grown – it’s honestly wild.
So for the very last time, we’re saying goodbye to you, to Milab, and of course… to Palmo.
Thank you so much for following along with our blog, With love, The Palmo Team 🤖❤️
