🎢 Testing a New Collapse Pattern

This week, we explored a new version of our robot's collapse movement- one that doesn’t happen all at once, but rather staggers side to side. Our goal was to create a more dramatic and unstable feeling, but the outcome raised new questions.

⚙️ Vibration Integration Attempt

We also tried to connect the vibration mechanism to the device, but unfortunately, it didn’t function as expected. We’ll need to revisit this technically in the coming week.

🧪 Usability Test & Insights

We conducted another usability test, which provided valuable feedback. While some participants interpreted the staggered collapse as a malfunction or error, the fast and smooth collapse felt more “intentional” or even positive to them. This made us realize that our collapse behavior is still not sending the exact emotional signal we want it to- it should evoke concern, not comfort.

🖨️ 3D Printing Progress

In parallel, we printed new 3D parts to improve the physical build and prepare for final integration.

🎬 Scriptwriting Begins

Lastly, we started working on the script for our final video. The end of the project is finally in sight, and we’re beginning to shape how we want to tell our story.

🔍 Next Week’s Mission

  • Refine the collapse movement so it communicates the right emotional message.

  • Get the vibration mechanism to work with the current model.
